Sunset Cliffs is known for its picturesque views, rather than its easy beach access. Beach access involves moderate climbing down trail paths. While surfing is permitted, swimming is prohibited.
The closest swimmable beach is Ocean Beach City Beach- 1.2 mil

Beach chairs and a beach umbrella are also provided for your use.
This home is monitored by exterior surveillance cameras and interior noise monitoring devices.
We supply a starter pack of paper goods and cleaning products. This includes paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, multi-purpose spray, hand & dish soap, and shower sets.
You must be at least 30 years old to rent this home. If all guests are adults, all guests must be over the age of 30, excluding families.
Max adults is 8 if it is an all adults group.

Sunset Cliffs is San Diego's one and only Natural Park expanding over a mile long full of sandstone cliffs along Point Loma's Peninsula. Point Loma is a family-friendly neighborhood with historical charm. Neighboring Ocean Beach, this area has a variety of local shops, restaurants, and a bustling lifestyle. Ocean Beach is ideal for family beach days and swimming in the ocean. Point Loma provides easy access to Sea World (just minutes away), The San Diego Zoo & Balboa Park (15-20 mins.), SAN airport, and downtown - making it the ideal spot for exploring San Diego's lively city life!

Don’t forget to report any damages, issues, or upgrade suggestions—we truly value your feedback! Check-out is at 10:00 AM, unless a late check-out was pre-approved. Oceanside Retreat

This house worked great for our family with space to accommodate everyone. The location was great for long or short walks and businesses close by. Everything was very comfortable with plenty of places to relax inside and out. The living rm sofa was a favorite for reading, watching sports, or napping! Best of all was the huge front deck with sofa for watching the sunsets and having the fire “pit” to stay warm.
All of the bedrooms were very comfortable and of course the most important, plenty of bathrooms. Opening windows at night allowed us to listen to the waves crashing against the cliffs when it was bedtime. Everything worked out great for our family.
And the minor issues we encountered were promptly taken care of (same day). We always received a response with information about a repair person coming out. ( Missing gate remote and plugged kitchen drain.) The plumber though was memorable - came immediately, fixed in about 20 minutes, and the sink was spotless when he left.
Would recommend this house and location to anyone!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful Airbnb. The home was spotless and thoughtfully designed. The decor struck the perfect balance between stylish and inviting without ever feeling cluttered. Every space felt warm and welcoming. The beds and linens were truly luxurious and incredibly comfortable, which made for such restful nights. One of our favorite parts of the stay was taking in the stunning sunset views. They were absolutely breathtaking and made each evening special. With a group of 11, we were so impressed by how spacious the home felt. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax without ever feeling crowded. We especially loved the open layout, which made it easy to spend quality time together, whether we were cooking meals or just enjoying each other’s company. The kids especially loved playing in the front grass area. It was such a great bonus space for them to run around and have fun. The host was excellent with communication. They were responsive, helpful, and made the entire experience smooth and stress free. Thank you for providing such a fantastic space for our family gathering. We truly appreciated every detail and had a memorable stay!

We had an amazing stay at The Boat House (S1295) at Sunset Cliffs. The home was incredibly spacious, with plenty of room for our group of 13 to spread out comfortably without ever feeling crowded. The layout worked really well for a larger group, and the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable.
The backyard/frontyard (with the grass) was a highlight - absolutely amazing and perfect for relaxing and spending time together. Communication was easy from start to finish, and the hosts were very responsive whenever we had questions.
Overall, this was a fantastic stay and we would absolutely recommend it. 10/10 experience!

Wonderful Stay at the Boat House

The boat house was the perfect venue for our family vacation. 7 adults, 2 teens, and 2 toddlers. The location, floorplan and amenities were all exceptional. Our families best memories will be time spent hanging out on the front deck, by the fire pit, watching the amazing sunsets. Also, meals together prepared in the fabulous kitchen and hanging out playing pool in the garage. The host was friendly and promptly responded to text messages. We would definitely stay at this property again.

I have been going on trips with 7 other girlfriends for 15 years and our trip to San Diego was one of the best. The Boathouse exceeded my expectations. There were plenty of bedrooms/beds. It is often difficult to find a rental that can accommodate 8 women comfortably. The house was beautifully decorated and very charming. We decided not to go to dinner 2 nights because the sunset view was AMAZING. We were able to do Pilates on the front lawn. I highly recommend The Boat house! Check in and check out was easy and the communication with the the Driftway check staff was great! Thank you!

Wow, we absolutely loved our stay at The Boat House! The house was perfect for our trip with 3 families. Everything was so clean and inviting! The views from the front of the house could not be beat, and we enjoyed spending time out in the yard and on the patio. Thank you so much for a wonderful place to stay!

Beautiful home & well kept. High end appliances & well stocked kitchen. Bedrooms large,airy,& nicely decorated - but a few, including Master,had no closet!!Unfortunately,near by beaches were not great - too much seaweed & not easily accessible. Overall, a great house with great views - terrific for a large family.$$$!

Whenever renting online, you always hold your breath when you arrive for the first time at the house. Particularly if you have booked for a larger group. This was no different. But driving up to this house, and then walking through it for the first time elicited nothing but "oohs" and "ahs" from the various folks in our group. Starting with the location. STUNNING. Your own private viewing location for the best sunsets on the west coast and step across the street to walk along the cliffs in either direction. An easy stroll to Sunnie's (the best Mexican food in the area) and a 20 minute walk to downtown Ocean Beach. Then, the house. Starting with the gated parking for four cars. When that gate closes behind you, there is a real sense of privacy and security. Open the garage door to the game room with pool table, couches, and big screen TV. Step through that room to the courtyard with the inground hot tub. Back into the house, the laundry room is functional and out of the way and the first floor bedroom is perfectly sized for one or two. Not an ensuite, but a bathroom right next to it. The kitchen is one of the best we have seen in a rental. Top of the line appliances (a six burner Viking stove!), coffee maker, etc. all decorated in the nautical theme of the house. Dining room is perfectly sized for 6 and the living room is up two steps with a big lounging couch and large screen TV. Step outside to your own deck with plenty of seating and enjoy the ocean breezes. Upstairs, the bedrooms are roomy, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are well situated (although I am not a fan of the "open shower" concept). Four bedrooms upstairs, including one Master, one Junior Master (each with king beds) facing the ocean, then another Junior Master and a bunk room with four beds. We had 11 people in two different families staying in this house and it was perfect. Enough room to spread out, but good spaces to come together as well. The perfect place to use as our San Diego vacation jumping off point. There were issues that came up during the week. This happens, particularly when you have a house situated right across the street from the ocean. But the Drift team was responsive (I got a response to a text within two minutes) and the issues were dealt with as quickly as possible. If you stay in this house, make sure you cover the deck furniture at the end of the day. If you don't, the ocean mist will cover them with dew overnight. Don't ask how I know that! One thing to note is that three of the bedrooms don't have closets. There are plenty of closets around the house, but keep this in mind when you unpack. We really don't have a single negative thing to say about this house (except the open design of the showers, but that is more of a personal taste issue). We would not hesitate to rent this house again. If you are looking for an ocean front house to host a group from 5-15 people, and this house is available, jump on it and you won't have any regrets...

The Boat House at Sunset Cliffs is the perfect home for a beachside getaway. The location is directly across the street from the world famous Sunset Cliffs - where we enjoyed views of the sunset from the front deck every night, and walked along the beachside cliffs to the cutest breakfast spot 'Little Lion' in the mornings.
And the house! Beautifully decorated, it made for a dream home away from home. Every amenity including beach supplies were available. The home is designed so well. Every bedroom had a unique beach or boating theme with the most comfortable beds. And there was so much room in the house for relaxing! From the wrap around couch in the living room, lounging on the patio, the pool table in the playroom, the large dining area, and of course the hot tub!
I highly recommend The Boat House! It's a place that you will never forget and will want to come back to time and again.

We celebrated my mom's 77th bday and had an incredible time. The place is very big and so many nooks/places to relax and enjoy. The kids loved the back/converted garage with the pool table and kicking it room. The front deck and yard were AMAZING to take in the ocean and gorgeous weather. Plenty of seating everywhere. Front yard was great for bocce and other yard games. Kitchen was large and had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable and just about every bedroom had its own bathroom attached. Seemed like tvs were everywhere if needed but we only used the one in the main living room. Place looks like it was recently remodeled and the boat theme was super cool. Some windows couldn't open or stay open but enough did to take in that ocean breeze. Loved the lighting everywhere. Nice and bright if needed. Jacuzzi was a great way to end the evenings. Off street parking was available if needed but the back secured parking area can fit a lot of cars. Think we had 6 at any given time and still space. The automatic back gate for cars was nice for security although the area seems quite safe. Our family really loved it. The daily sunsets were a hit. It was my mom's 77th birthday and she couldn't have asked for more. We'll be back for sure.

We stayed at this amazing property and had an incredible time. Not only was it beautiful on the inside, but it was also just as incredible to spend time in the outside space. The beds were really comfortable, tons of space to entertain and have fun and the most incredible views of the ocean to enjoy every night. This property exceeded our expectations in every way and had all we could need and more. Highly recommend!
