There are so many wonderful things to see, do, and experience in San Diego that sometimes we have to pinch ourselves, not believing it is true that we live in this paradise, and for some of us who have lived here most of our lives, we really get excited about special events such as Comic Con. You may not realize that San Diego is the site of the OG Comic Con, dating back to 1970 when a small group of comic book, movie, and sci-fans held the first convention, but you probably do know that it is now one of the biggest events in the convention world. And because we at Drift Vacation Homes believe that Comic Con fans deserve to be comfortable in between their adventures with the X-Men and others, our San Diego Comic Con rentals are located not all that far from the San Diego Convention Center!
If You Know, You Know
It really is hard to imagine a world without Comic Con, and fortunately you don’t have to, as most major cities in the US host their own version of this sci-fi phenomenon. But if really consider yourself a fan, visiting Comic Con in San Diego has to be number one on your bucket list, and you probably already know that the first panel held at Comic Con was a little film called Star Wars, released in 1975. Taking place every July and lasting for just four short days, the convention offers fans the opportunity to cosplay, rub shoulders with their favorite sci-fi, comic book, and movie stars while also adding to their collection of action figures, discovering new board games, and really, just reveling in all the excitement. Comic Con is so big and has become such a ubiquitous part of the San Diego landscape, a Comic Con museum has opened up in Balboa Park and has quickly become a must-see attraction for super fans from all over the world.
The Magic Continues
Now that we have concluded our discussion about San Diego Comic Con, it is time to explore the magical comforts and luxuries just waiting to be discovered in our wonderful places to stay for San Diego Comic Con. The Drift Vacation Homes difference is immediately apparent, and as the door swings open to reveal the treasures inside, you will feel any residual troubles dropping from your shoulders to the floor like an unwanted cape. You will feel like a superhero and our homes will be your Fortress of Solitude, only without the ice and the loneliness as you follow the path of floors made from wood, travertine, or other luxury tiles. California design style is simple, offering mostly white walls, high ceilings, and windows that take up the entire length of the wall, inviting the outside in and yet offering a warm and welcoming vibe that shouldn’t be possible. Living rooms with overstuffed sofas, state of the art televisions, and most often, gas fireplaces will be your favorite place to hang. Or will they?
Testimonials
Vacation Dreams Come True
The fact that you are a Comic Con fan shows us that you really do love to play, and your favorite rental could be one that comes with a fully equipped game room, giving you more ways to play when you aren’t hanging out with Antman. Playing pool or foosball with your buddies won’t save the planet, but even superheroes deserve a vacation every so often, and some of our game rooms will offer super-sized televisions and occasionally a gaming console, giving you the opportunity to play one of the new video games you purchased while at the event. And because magic can be a moonlight swim in a pool near the beach or a midnight soak in a bubbling hot tub, some of our San Diego Comic Con rentals may offer both those luxury amenities as well.
Comic Con Is Not Cheap
Although you will probably be grabbing food throughout the day at the venue, when the gates close for the evening, instead of spending more money on an expensive meal out, you can come home to our event escapes and prepare your favorite meals in our most luxuriously appointed kitchens. These spaces are equipped with the appliances you have always dreamed could be yours, and all the biggest names in appliances will be waiting to be utilized in the heart of the home. When it comes to eat your creation, often you will be able to slide the glass doors into the wall, pull up a chair inside or outside and dine as the sun sets over the waters that surround you. You would pay premium bucks for views like these and they are just considered part of our standard amenities, so yes, that means no extra charge for the views!
Stunning Views, Private Pools, and Tranquil Moments
Let’s face it. Your time at Comic Con San Diego is sure to be slightly overwhelming, it is the most popular of all the con events, and with 130,000 people streaming in and out the doors of the convention center every day, peaceful, quiet, and easy are not words you would use to describe your activities. At home with Drift, however, stunning views enjoyed while submerging yourself in the waters of our private pools will bring you so many tranquil moments you may have second thoughts about returning to Comic Con on the second or third day. (But we hope you do!) Our backyards are an oasis of calm and beauty, providing all the ways to make it easy to relax and wind down, including barbecue grills (or outdoor kitchens) firepits, multiple seating areas, and places to dine. Every thought to making these outdoor spaces have been considered and we aren’t bragging when we say you will spoiled and pampered when you come home from Comic Con to our California retreats each night!
