Don’t Miss Out on Mission Beach
The community built on a sandbar is perhaps one of the most casual and laidback ones in the area, offering a history that dates back over 100 years. Covering about two miles of oceanfront expanse and including the iconic Belmont Park as its secondary attraction (obviously, the beach is its primary attraction), this community really is one of our favorites. Belmont Park is an old school amusement park that just celebrated its 100th birthday on July 4th of 2025, and we can tell you that celebration was legendary, especially when experienced from the top of the Giant Dipper, its original 100-year-old wooden roller coaster. Offering the iconic Cannonball restaurant featuring an Asian fusion menu and the best views of the sea, you could almost spend your entire vacation at Belmont Park and not feel like you missed out on anything. We don’t recommend you do that, however, because a true Mission Beach vacation should experience beach days, surfing afternoons, and perhaps even adventures at SeaWorld San Diego, which is located just minutes away from our most comfortable abodes!
Thrilling Retreats Right on the Water
If you come all of this way for a beach vacation, it only makes sense that you should live in a space with sea views and salt air breezes, and most of our retreats are firmly entrenched on sandy beaches. Imagine stepping out onto the patio that covers the back of your rental and seeing sandy beaches, blue waters, and a few seagulls flying around looking for snacks and you might just have an inkling about how wonderful your time with us will be. Our homes in Mission Beach include cute condos and townhomes perfect for small families, romantic small cottages that young lovers of all ages will be charmed by, and spacious estates that will be ideal for family reunions and girls’ getaways! As you may be learning to expect, Drift Vacation Homes has a passion for hospitality, and it shows in every inch of every space we provide.

Classic California
There are certain design choices that signify you have arrived in California, and our vacation rentals in Mission Beach will feature them all. White walls, high ceilings, and views that will break your heart to leave at the end of your stay are common in these spaces, as is a modern and simplistic style. Sofas will be plush, clutter will be at a minimum, and appliances and electronics will be high tech, ensuring that you, our treasured guest, will feel spoiled at every turn. Watching television on a stormy night can be an idyllic experience, especially as the pictures on our high-end televisions are so clear they will make you feel as if you are a part of the show. Kitchens will be fully equipped with the big names in appliances and will include necessary “extras” such as wine refrigerators, Keurigs, and blenders in which you can whip up a frothy and refreshing frozen margarita to be enjoyed on outdoor sectionals as you watch the sun fall into the sea.
Sleep Well, Dream Happy
Your daytime Mission Beach adventures may include surf lessons, visits to Belmont Park, and all manner of activities that will most certainly tire you out and when you walk in the door at the end of your day, your first, last, and only thought may be of the king sized bed dominating the floor space of your bedroom. Topped with premium mattresses, high thread count linens, and pillows that cradle your head like a young mom cradles her newborn infant, sleep will come easy and we can almost guarantee dreams will be happy ones. Bunk rooms for the kids will be the source of late-night giggles, whispers, and squabbles between siblings and primary suites for the parents will offer ensuite baths with deep tubs, steam showers, and soft and fluffy towels. Some bedrooms may offer their own private sitting areas, others may offer private balconies with views that will take your breath away and all will offer tranquility that will be remembered long after you return to reality.
